It wouldn’t happen without you!!!
—Mary Lessing-Turner, about the celebrations for Canada Day in Canmore
And you are such an integral part of making every event successful Cyd – thank you for your hard work in getting us organized and making magic happen every time!
—Sue Robertson – Administrator, Canmore Alberta Canada Day Society
You are one classy lady, Cyd. I’m lucky to have got the opportunity to work with you.
—Stephanie O’Brien – Banff Marathon
THANK YOU. This was my first race and I picked this one because of the location. I had an absolute great time from my stay right up to , during and after the race. The best part of the whole experience were the volunteers. Absolutely some of the most encouraging and supportive people I have run into anywhere. The town of Banff should be very proud.
Secondly, I would like to thank the organizing committee. On my part everything seemed to run smoothly and I could not have asked for a better experience. It is not everyday that you can tell people that they had to change the course because of grizzly bears! I can appreciate the logistics of having an event in a National Park.
Thanks again for a wonderful experience and I hope that there will be another one in the future.
—Toni Daniel, Lloydminster, AB, about Banff Marathon
It was great getting to meet you and work with you. It was inspiring for myself and I’m sure most others involved with the marathon to see your hard work and organization level. We were all so impressed and happy to have you on our side! Wish you all the best of luck in your upcoming endeavours.
—Peter Sandhu – Communications Coordinator, Banff Marathon
I attended your lovely festival in Canmore, with a guest pass that your group provided.
It was a tremendous event and we enjoyed it immensely – thank you very much for providing the guest pass for my husband and me.You have created a fabulous environment. The sponsors were thanked so graciously, that I felt honoured to be representing one of them. In fact,
when strangers asked about my affiliation, they also thanked me for the sponsorship.
The entertainers were so well respected; it was obvious to me that they really enjoyed playing in Canmore and were happy to be invited – either for the
first time or the second or third time. The sight lines were great; the audience was friendly and helpful to each other – like neighbours.I applaud your strategic thinking around the choice not to have alcohol on the grounds, the rules about chair heights and the designated dancing area.
These few but critical rules make everyone comfortable.I was overjoyed to sit through three days of wonderful music, at the right volume, with excellent acoustic technology and to NEVER have to resort to wearing
my hearing protection (which I usually do). The volunteers were top notch – always cheerful with some nice things to say to welcome the guests. I was lucky
to meet a lady who had volunteered every year.I am still in awe of the green gang. You have really raised the bar on Alberta festivals, and I have already told many people that Canmore Folk Festival is easily
the top festival in our province. It makes me proud to be an Albertan! We are planning to come again next year – hopefully I will get a chance to meet you and some of the organizers and thank you in person.
Bravo on a terrific job.
—Joan Udell, Chair, Alberta Foundation for the Arts
I just wanted to send you this short e-mail to let you know how much we enjoyed the festival. The surroundings (scenery) was breathtaking, the people were wonderful, and the whole festival vibe was sheer joy.
Further, I wanted to thank you two for all your help and also to commend you on a job very well done!!!! Also, kudos to the entire volunteer team because they were all such wonderful people, always ready to lend a hand with a smile, especially the young man on the utility cart who ran over to help with nails and a hammer when our tent almost flew away in the wind. Phew!
Of the festivals we’ve done, we enjoyed this one the most!!
Thanks again.
