Creating art using such a fragile and ephemeral medium is what makes snow sculpting so special, add the fact that the artist will create it in front of the public – and seeing it being created and coming to life is magical.
Quebec has the famous Winter Carnival, which features snow and ice sculpting on their agenda. Ottawa offers the Winterlude. Now it is our time to keep the momentum and create a legacy of the AWG 2014, bringing the snow sculpting culture to the west, in our beautiful Bow Valley – Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and Kananaskis.
“My agenda has simply been to connect the Bow Valley amazing artists with businesses and let the imaginations soar! All the whilst continuing to create a snow sculpture culture here in our valley and even dream big to hosting an international snow sculpting event… Over the past few months I have put together 5 proposals and met or spoke with each one of them. There is some great interest out there!”, explains Cyd Fraser.
